Alloys Steel
Alloy Steel is a type of steel that contains additional elements (besides iron and carbon) to improve its mechanical properties, toughness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or heat resistance. The added alloys can include chromium, nickel, molybdenum, vanadium, manganese, silicon, cobalt, and others
Types of Alloy Steel:
Low-Alloy Steel:
- Contains up to 5% of alloying elements.
- Known for high strength and weldability.
- Applications: Structural components, pipelines, and pressure vessels.
High-Alloy Steel:
- Contains more than 5% of alloying elements.
- Examples: Tool steel, stainless steel.
- Applications: Tools, molds, and aerospace components.
